Tech Tuesday: myCharge Energy Shot Charger | @myChargePower

Product review post graphic

As a mom, you’re always on the run. There have been several times that I’ve been out all day, without a working car charger to give my cell phone a little boost. In this day and age, I know I feel out of touch when my phone isn’t working. Now there is a SMALL portable charger on the market that makes a perfect stocking stuffer for the upcoming holiday: The myCharge Energy Shot Charger.

My Charge Power Shot Charger

The myCharge Energy Charger is small enough to just throw in the littlest of purses.

Just over the size of a typical lipstick, the unit is roughly 3 just over inches. It comes in this cute little plastic carrying case with a tiny USB cord for a recharge in either a wall outlet, car or computer. The myCharge Energy Shot has a special smart sense technology where it can recognize any device and charge it via the USB outlet.

On the top of the myCharge Energy Shot it has lights that indicate what level of energy it currently has left, which can be a bit deceiving:

  • Red indicates 0%-40%
  • Yellow indicates 41%-70%
  • Green indicates 71% -100%.

When I was trying it out, I noticed that once I plugged in my device, the light stayed green for approximately a minute. Then it changed to yellow. When I noticed it was red about 10 minutes later, I just figured it would shut off, however it continued to charge my cell phone until it reached 100% (I started charging my phone at about 45%).

So all in all, I love the size since it is quite smaller than my other device chargers and so far, when I’ve needed it, it’s been a great asset to have, charging my phone to 100%. At the $24.99 price point, I think it makes a nice gift for anyone with a cell phone or ipod. It’s always handy to have an extra boost of energy when you’re on the go.
