With school starting this week, naturally we had to make a stop to The Children’s Place to stock up on their “Back To School” clothes.
My kids LOVE picking out their own clothes – they do have a preference as to what they’d like to wear to school, and since we are not required to wear uniforms, I like to let them pick out their favorite fashions. However, they do tend to go a bit overboard (especially my princess – wonder where she got from). So, on this occasion, I decided to go with a few of my blogger buddies and make a mom’s day of it.
When we got to The Children’s Place, the first thing I spotted was the prints! For girls, beautiful flowers, butterflies, stripes and animal print are what’s currently in fashion. I saw quite a few pieces that my darling daughter was going to go nuts over. Since she’s all about dresses and being super girly, that is where I started.
Since she is starting Kindergarten this year, I thought play clothes would be perfect. The Children’s Place offers a variety of licensed character t-shirts that were on sale. Elsa & Anna, Ariel and more were a few of the Disney favorites I spotted.
For my handsome boy, I loved the layered striped polos with t-shirts and khaki shorts. However, he would rather have that nylon sweats material, and I was pleased to see matching nylon sweat pants with long sleeve matching shirts with coordinating hats. Now he’s ready for soccer and basketball when Fall hits.

The kiddos flipped when I got home with their new clothes and immediately ran back to their rooms to begin the fashion show. As you can see, this year I decided to focus on the perfect “outfit”. Accessories were an important part of the ensemble and The Children’s Place had us covered with matching purses, head bands and shoes.
Funny, but in these photos I’m noticing how big the t-shirts are on my little man. There was a reason for this! I like to shop for t-shirts while they’re on sale!
